Holoflex screens for front and rear projections

Glimm installed in Paris a large flexible hologram displays with the flexible see through mesh materials called Holoflex a scrim material with the most durability as its made of an optical fiber and is more stiff then the normal mesh tulle

This Holoflex makes it better as we can make flat screens and hang them down or place them on a roller binder to roll down

Its excellent for normal rear and front projection as well to create an hologram or an 3D holographic illusion in any size

the materials are cuttable and can be mount anywhere and is Wheater proof

The material can be 9 meter seamless in width and we have on stock 100 meters

What Is Holoflex?

Holoflex (sometimes styled HoloFlex) is a premium polyamide holographic mesh—essentially a highly transparent, lightweight scrim designed for realistic 3D-looking Pepper’s Ghost effects in large-scale projection setups . It’s manufactured by Glimm Display often branded as Holoflex / PepperScrim  .

What Makes Holoflex Stand Out?

Extremely light and portable, making it ideal for touring or mobile stage setups.

  • Works with polarized 3D projection systems (optional) and standard 2D content.
  • Easy to install on trusses, frames, or rigging setups.
  • The material remains nearly invisible when unlit, enhancing the floating-image effect—a hallmark of Pepper’s Ghost illusions  .

 Use Cases

Holoflex is ideal for:

Concerts, live shows, and theatrical performances

  • Museum or trade shows (featured holographic exhibits or narrators)
  • Fashion shows and product reveal events
  • Portable installations or events on the move

It supports large-scale setups up to full stage size, with seamless visuals and minimal visible material  .

 Community Tips & Considerations

From professional lighting and projection designers:

  • Rear projection on scrim often loses brightness—forward projection is typically recommended for clarity and impact  .
  • Tensioning matters: ensure scrim is pulled taut on all sides—failure to tension horizontally (top/bottom only) leads to bowing and distortion  .
  • Alternative materials like tulle or sharks tooth scrim can work for low-budget or experimental builds, but Holoflex/Hologauze yields far superior visual results in professional settings  .

Summary

Holoflex (also marketed as Pepper Scrim) is a high-end holographic mesh built for professional Pepper’s Ghost illusions.

  • Offers excellent transparency (~78%) and projection gain (2.0–2.4), in customizable large formats. Lightweight, portable, and mountable—used for stage, museum, and event installations. Best used with front projection, proper multi‑side tensioning, and dark staging for maximum effect.
